Carlo Ancelotti has had to deal with injury after injury to his squad throughout the season and now will have to live without his right back for the next month. The Italian already has a much-depleted squad with the absences of star players such as Thibaut Courtois, Éder Militão, and Eduardo Camavinga, amongst many others.
After a medical assessment this morning, reported by Marca, Dani Carvajal has added to Madrid’s injury woes, with the right back set to miss the next three or four weeks after suffering an injury in the sole of his left foot. However, there is optimism in the club that the player may be back for the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh that commences on January 10.
After the game on Saturday, Ancelotti spoke of “excessive strain,” but it is only this morning that the extent of the problem has been discovered. It is likely that the full-back will miss the upcoming games against Real Betis, Villarreal, Deportivo Alavés, and Mallorca in La Liga, Union Berlin in the Champions League, and a Copa del Rey fixture.
