Daley Blind is on the verge of signing for Bayern Munich, according to Mike Verweij and David Ornstein.
The Dutch international is a free agent after his contract with Ajax ran out. A medical is expected to take place this week with the defensive midfielder likely to join up with the squad by this weekend.
The 32-year-old is vastly experienced and can be used in a variety of defensive positions for Julian Nagelsmann’s side. Without the likes of Lucas Hernandez due to a torn ligament injury, the signing of Blind makes perfect sense. A leader who has played at the top, Blind should fit perfectly into the Bayern way of thinking and playing.
Having made 99 caps for the Netherlands, Blind was used in all five of his nation’s games at last year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga after a rather shaky start to the season. Their first game back is a massive fixture against RB Leipzig on January 20th.
