Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has this week been credited with a fresh interest in the purchase of a La Liga club.
The outfit in question? Valencia.
Amid an apparent search on Ronaldo’s part for a club to call his own, the Portuguese has been led back to Spain, and struggling Valencia.
Los Che are of course in the thick of a battle against relegation from La Liga, albeit with recent weeks having been of an encouraging nature under the watch of new boss Carlos Corberán.
In the case of Valencia maintaining their top-flight status, it is in turn claimed that Ronaldo could launch a bid to take up ownership at Mestalla.
Any such endeavour could even be backed by the Saudi royal family.
These rumours, relaid by Mundo Deportivo, though, should be taken with a pinch of salt.
This comes with current Valencia owner Peter Lim, despite long-term backlash on the part of the club’s supporters, having recently made clear that he has absolutely zero intention of departing in the near future.
