Sky Germany reports that talks between Borussia Dortmund and Marco Reus continue as the two parties negotiate over his new contract.
Dortmund have recently presented Reus with an improved offer as they look to reduce their wage bill for this upcoming season. It has previously been reported that the 33-year-old could half his salary if he is to sign an extension with Dortmund.
Reus’ current deal expires at the end of the season and he is set to be offered a new one-year contract. His previous extension at Dortmund was in 2018.
This season Reus has played 22 times for Dortmund scoring eight and assisting seven times. The 33-year-old struggled in the first half of the season with injury but since the new year has only missed three games through illness.
Reus is one of four players that Dortmund wish to give contract extensions with Julian Brandt, Mats Hummels and Gregor Kobel all set to be involved in negotiations over new contracts.
