Confirmed Lineups: Bologna vs. Borussia Dortmund

Official team news has just been released for Die Schwarzgelben who’ve hit the road to take on Bologna for Matchday 7 of the UEFA Champions League.

With just under an hour to go until kick-off, Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Şahin has announced his starting eleven to take on Italian outfit Bologna. The team from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy currently sit in seventh place after 20 rounds of Serie A action. 

Meanwhile Die Schwarzgelben have struggled for form on the road this season, but they have been pretty consistent in Europe’s premier competition. Aside from two defeats to their fiercest opponents Real Madrid and Barcelona, BVB have notched 12 points from their 1-0 win over Sturm Graz, a 7-1 hammering of Celtic and two 3-0 triumphs against Club Brugge and Dinamo Zagreb have further boosted chances of a top-eight finish. 

Tonight, Dortmund make three changes to their line-up which fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Eintracht Frankfurt last Friday evening. Gregor Kobel remains in goals while the three-man defence is completed by Julian Ryerson, Waldemar Anton and captain Nico Schlotterbeck. 

In midfield, Julien Duranville starts on the right alongside Felix Nmecha and Pascal Groß with Jamie Gittens on the left flank. The final duo of changes sees Maximilian Beier partner Gio Reyna who support Serhou Guirassy leading the line.

As for the hosts, they come into tonight on the back of a 3-1 with over Monza on the weekend. Head coach Vincenzo Italiano starts with a 4-2-3-1 formation including stars like Remo Freuler and Ricardo Orsolini. There is only a place on the bench for ex-TSG Hoffenheim full-back Stefan Posch.
