According to The Athletic, former Tottenham loanee Clément Lenglet is close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. Spurs’ loan deal for the French international from Barcelona didn’t include a permanent option and the club has made no attempts to sign the defender upon the loan’s expiration. Following the completion of his loan in North London, Lenglet has returned to Catalonia.
A deal isn’t yet complete for the 28-year-old, but is expected to be finalised soon. The Barcelona defender has not been registered by the Catalan club and has been made available for a transfer after being deemed surplus to requirements by the Blaugrana.
Lenglet will be joining up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, with the club viewing the Frenchman as a key centre-back target this summer. The former Sevilla defender will also be teaming up with Sadio Mané, Séko Fofana and Alex Telles, who have all joined the Riyadh club this summer.
