Christophe Galtier placed under protection following death threats

Christophe Galtier, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has been placed under personal and family protection after receiving multiple death threats. RMC Sport reports that he received nearly 5,000 phone calls and messages, some of which included clear death threats. The club has taken action to ensure his safety and that of his family.

PSG’s management is investigating the situation and awaits the position of INEOS, the owners of OGC Nice. Galtier has informed PSG of his intention to take legal action against those responsible for making “defamatory and insulting remarks” about him.

In response to the allegations, PSG have released a statement on its “commitment to fighting racism and discrimination”. The club also said that they have “been working with relevant associations for many years to address these issues”. PSG states that the allegations “do not involve the club and are from before Galtier’s arrival” and that the club “fully supports its coach and remains committed to its anti-racism stance.”
