Christophe Galtier on PSG future: “I am planning on being manager next season.”

Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s trip to Angers tomorrow night, Christophe Galtier notably discussed his future, reiterating that he was looking ahead to next season as well as working on improving the squad with Sporting Advisor Luís Campos.

Reports from earlier this spring had indicated that the coach’s position was under threat in the wake of the Champions League elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich, but that the club’s management was unwilling to make an immediate decision.

With the team now back on track for a record-breaking eleventh league title, Galtier now appears to have secured his short-term future – and, in a press conference attended by GFFN, expressed his confidence that he will still be in the dugout by August:

“I’ve been working with Luís in terms of what the squad will look like last season, with regard to how we want to improve the team, by having more options, being more balanced. We’ve been working on it for several weeks, including last week in particular. Am I convinced I’ll be the PSG manager next season. I am planning on being manager next season.”

PSG travel to face Ligue 1’s bottom-placed side, and will look to extend their lead over Marseille to 11 points ahead of their closest challengers’ Olympico derby against Lyon. Thursday morning’s training session saw both  midfielder Marco Verratti and wing-back Nuno Mendes back in action.
