Chris Eubank Jr has reacted on social media after his fierce rival, Conor Benn, left Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing to join Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
After a 10-year association with Matchroom Boxing, it was announced on Thursday evening that Benn was departing to sign with White’s promotional company. He is believed to have penned a one-fight, eight-figure deal.
Benn said after the deal was announced: “Zuffa Boxing presented me with an opportunity I simply couldn’t refuse. I’d love Eddie to continue to be part of my team and for our partnership to evolve in this new chapter.
“I’m filled with excitement and hunger for what’s ahead with Zuffa Boxing. I want the legacy fights, the biggest nights, the biggest stages. I fear no man at any weight, and I’m ready to give the fans the fights they’ve been calling for. I’m in my prime, and together we have bold, ambitious plans.”
Chris Eubank Jr Savages Hearn and Benn
Eubank Jr has now made his feelings very clear about Benn’s move on social media. The two fighters met twice in the ring in 2025, with Eubank taking victory in April and then Benn winning the rematch in November.
Eubank couldn’t resist mocking Hearn after one of his most prized assets decided to leave for White. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“So Eddie Hearns #1 fighter has now left him. Eddie stuck by Conor Benn through thick & thin, getting him off of drug charges & giving him money to live when he had nothing. I guess this really shows just how much of a scumbag Hearn actually is… he saves his fighters life & career & Conor still doesn’t want to be involved with him.”
‘Next Gen’ then took aim at his fierce rival, adding: “Or is Benn the scumbag for dumping the man that built him? This really is a conundrum. Scumbag on scumbag violence at its finest… don’t say I didn’t tell you guys.”
Eubank then reacted to Hearn saying Benn wouldn’t even give him a phone call prior to his move being made official. He said:
“Wow Eddie Hearn you saved this man’s life & his career & he still wouldn’t even give you a phone call!? I knew you were a piece of s*** but Conor must of seen you do some really bad things to not even allow you one call.
“Conor for whatever reason you stabbed this idiot in the back (he’s an idiot for thinking he could trust you) just know what goes around always comes back around… you will get yours too.”
Eddie Hearn Speaks Out After Conor Benn’s Departure
Hearn has called out Benn ‘for not being the person he thought he was’ but admitted he blames himself for the 29-year-old’s shock departure.
He said: “I’ve had a couple of texts, [because Benn] texted me just after the announcement. And I replied, you know, we had a few back-and-forths, but you either feel like you’ve done nothing wrong or you’re — like I say, everyone’s different.”
“[It] feels a little bit of a wasted few years, [because] I gave a lot. I gave a lot. You know how hard I fought [for Benn]. You know when no one believed him, no one backed him, I did. I believed him and I backed him and I never gave in. When he was done, [I] loaned him hundreds of thousands of pounds.
“I blame myself. got the character wrong. I took the loyalty for granted because of what I did, and I shouldn’t have done that. And I’ve made that mistake before in boxing, but I just didn’t expect it from Conor Benn. So like I said, maybe he’s not quite the person I thought he was. I don’t know. Look, maybe we’ll talk [with Benn] in the future, but what can I say?”
