Bayern Munich will be without Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for their upcoming trip to Freiburg, head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed.
“Choupo will be out, he has problems with his knee,” Tuchel confirmed at a press conference today.
The 34-year-old is also in danger of missing Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City.
“It’s going to be tight for Choupo. He will not go with us to Freiburg and will undergo treatment. We will have to wait and see with everything else.
Asked if Thomas Muller or someone else would replace Choupo-Moting up front against Freiburg, Tuchel replied:
“He can play there. Unfortunately, Mathys Tel is still injured. Sadio Mané and Serge Gnabry can also play there. We will choose from among them.
In addition to Choupo-Moting, Tel and the long-term injured Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez, Bayern will also be without Dayot Upamecano, who is suspended.
