Despite interest from Chelsea, Bild report that Benjamin Pavard (26) is expected to remain at Bayern Munich with the Frenchman occupying the right-back position for the time being.
Noussair Mazraoui (24) still needs time to embed himself in at the Bundesliga champions following his free transfer from Ajax, meaning that Pavard is likely play right-back at the start of the season.
Pavard has a preference to play at centre-back but with Bayern Munich’s recent signing of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus for a reported €80m including bonuses, the World Cup winner is expected to provide competition for Morocco international Mazraoui.
There has been indications that Pavard would be open to a move away from the Allianz Arena, but Bayern Munich would rather keep the France international for the time being.
Since his €35m move to Bayern Munich from Stuttgart in 2019, Pavard has played 119 games across all competitions, featuring predominantly as a right-back.
