Germany’s main sporting tabloid reports that FC Bayern München will face stiff competition for RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer from Chelsea FC.

A potential reunion with former coach Julian Nagelsmann drives most of the current rumors linking Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer with the FCB after his contract expires at the end of the season. Germany’s Sport Bild most recently even went so far as to suggest that a verbal agreement between the 25-year-old and the German record Champions was already in place.

The Bundesrepublik’s main sportinbg tabloid now also reports that Chelsea FC, having reportedly already having Laimer’s Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku on the hook, want to pick up Lamer as well. The tabloid doesn’t have much specifics to offer in reporting on this latest rumor.

Should anyone wish to pick up the midfielder during the winter transfer window, Leipzig’s known asking price is known to be upwards of €30 million. Laimer remains out with a syndesmosis injury, however, and is unlikely to see action until after the World Cup break.
