Chelsea have made initial contact with Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba about a possible move to England, per Sky Germany.
After having a third bid for Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana turned down, Chelsea have reportedly lined the 23-year-old up as an alternative.
Although Chelsea have already contacted Tapsoba, concrete negotiations have not yet taken place, and it’s doubtful that Leverkusen would be ready to sell the 23-year-old, who has four years left on his contract.
At the beginning of July, Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told Kicker:
“We don’t have any offers on the table. And if we did, we wouldn’t let him go.”
