Inter are now hopeful of luring Romelu Lukaku away from Chelsea, albeit on a loan deal, this summer. The meeting on Friday could play a significant part.
As per journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the meeting on Friday could allow both Chelsea and Inter to move closer to an agreement over the loan deal for Romelu Lukaku.
The report understands that a similar meeting on Wednesday has resulted in the opening of the doors for Lukaku’s return to the blue half of Milano.
Chelsea are reportedly happy to let the Belgian striker go on a season-long loan deal this summer, with Inter being a long-term admirer of the marksman. However, Inter could not spend extravagantly on this one transfer, owing to multiple financial complications.
Furthermore, they have other priorities in the market. According to Di Marzio’s claims, Inter are offering a loan fee of €5million plus €2million in various bonuses. On the other hand, Chelsea want €10-12million to offload Lukaku temporarily. The player has already agreed to take a massive pay cut to ensure his desired return to Italy.
Chelsea are interested in the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar, and Denzel Dumfries. But it is understood that their interest has not matured enough and will not trouble the Lukaku deal. Friday’s meeting could be decisive in shaping the striker’s fortune with the Londoners.
