AS Monaco’s academy goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta (17), reportedly targeted by many Premier League sides, is set to make a decision over his future soon, according to Nice-Matin.
Olmeta is yet to make his professional debut for Les Monégasques, but his performances with the club’s academy, as well as in the France national team youth setup, have caught the eyes of some of Europe’s elite. According to Foot Mercato, Stade Rennais and ESTAC Troyes are ready to make concrete moves for Olmeta. Troyes, part of the City Group, headed by Premier League side Manchester City, would almost be signing the player as an intermediary. Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham United and Leeds United are also interested.
However, Olmeta may remain at Monaco. As reported previously by the French publication, the Principality club have offered the promising goalkeeper his first professional deal, and he is set to give his response soon. The France U17 international, whose contract expires in June, is far from against leaving Monaco, but the club nonetheless have to convince one of the most sought-after goalkeepers of his generation to stay. His decision will reportedly be revealed in the coming days.
