The fact that RB Leipzig and London’s Chelsea FC have presumably had an agreement in place for Christopher Nkunku’s transfer this coming summer isn’t exactly new news. One of European football’s most open secrets has been out in the public sphere for well over a month. American journalist Ben Jacobs nevertheless offers some new information in the form of a concrete figure.

According to the CBSSports correspondent, the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee some €10 million over the Frenchman’s €60 million exit clause. The 25-year-old will head to the Isle for €70 million after the current campaign concludes. The Blues apparently wish to sew up the transaction quickly, possibly underpaying whilst the attacker rehabs his current injury.

Nkunku is expected to return in time for the second half off the Bundesliga season, though his current LCL tear may keep him sidelined for the initial few Bundesliga rounds after the World Cup break. German club football returns on January 20th. Nkunku still requires about 10-12 weeks recovery time.
