Nuri Sahin is fighting to stay in his Borussia Dortmund job and could make up to three changes when they play Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Tuesday’s Champions League game.
Die Schwarzgelben will be without Niklas Süle, who remains sidelined, while Ramy Bensebaini is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards. Sahin could also revert to a back four which would see Yan Couto come into the starting line-up for just the second time in this season’s Champions League, with Emre Can playing alongside Pascal Groß in midfield and Felix Nmecha dropping to the bench.
Julian Brandt, who has been underperforming of late, could find himself dropped in favour of Gio Reyna while Karim Adeyemi could also work himself into the starting line-up.
As for Bologna, Riccardo Orsolini and Santiago Castro are expected to start, two players that could cause Borussia Dortmund problems. The duo have scored 15 and created seven across all competitions between them this season and although the Italian side are all but out of this season’s competition, they will remain difficult to beat with just one loss in their last 10 games.
Bologna v Borussia Dortmund Predicted Line-Ups
Bologna: Skorupski – Holm, Lucumi, Beukema, Miranda – Freuler, Pobega – Orsolini, Ferguson, Dominguez – Castro
Borussia Dortmund: Kobel – Couto, Anton, Schlotterbeck, Ryerson – Can, Groß – Adeyemi, Reyna, Gittens – Guirassy
