Chelsea claimed a 3-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League with Lamine Yamal on the receiving end of the defeat for the La Liga giants
CBS Sports made a tongue-in-cheek joke at the expense of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal after Chelsea’s win in the Champions League.
The Blues claimed a 3-0 victory over the La Liga giants at Stamford Bridge in the league phase contest on Tuesday night.
Enzo Maresca’s side had two goals disallowed from Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos, with Chelsea eventually taking the lead with an own goal from Jules Kounde in the first half.
Chelsea doubled their advantage with a sublime solo goal from Estevao William before Liam Delap completed the scoring with his first goal for the Blues since his summer move from Ipswich Town.
The win moved Chelsea up to fifth place in the league phase standings of the Champions League with three matches left to play. Next up for Maresca and Co. in the competition is an away trip to Serie A outfit Atalanta next month.

Marc Cucurella put in an impressive performance at left-back for Chelsea, with the defender earning the Player of the Match award for his efforts.
Cucurella was tasked with defending against Yamal for much of the game, but the Chelsea star managed to keep the Barca talent quiet for the majority of the contest. Yamal was eventually substituted by Barca manager Hansi Flick to be replaced by former RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo.
After the game, CBS Sports Golazo’s X account posted a graphic which aimed a joke at Yamal’s expense, while also praising Cucurella.
The post featured a photo of Cucurella during the win over Barcelona, accompanied by the caption: “Marc Cucurella checking his pockets after tonight.”
The graphic also included an image of some car keys, a wallet and Yamal, implying that Cucurella had kept the Barcelona star and fellow Spain international especially quiet during the game.
Maresca explained after the final whistle why he was delighted to see Chelsea claim all three points against Barcelona in the Champions League.
“For me, personally, as you said, it’s a big win, especially because the other team was Barcelona,” Maresca said.
“But nothing changed in terms of what team we are, what we can achieve.
“So for sure it’s important tonight’s game, but no more than that. It’s finished, now focus on the next one that is difficult again.”
Chelsea will now prepare to face Arsenal in the Premier League at the weekend, which will see the top two clubs in the table go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge.
