Speaking in Tuesday’s press conference ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s game against Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League, Niko Kovac offered an injury update on Carney Chukwuemeka, Ramy Bensebaini and Daniel Svensson.
“It’s too early to put Ramy Bensebaini and Carney Chukwuemeka in the starting eleven tomorrow,” said Kovac. “We have plans for them to get minutes.”
Felix Nmecha is also sidelined for Die Schwarzgelben after suffered a ligament injury against Werder Bremen last month. The German’s injury was a huge blow, which forced the club to recall out-of-form Salih Özcan from his loan at Wolfsburg.
Speaking about Nmecha, Kovac said: “As things stand, I expect him to return in the middle or end of March if everything goes well.”
