Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is keen for a sidelined member of the club’s defensive ranks to accompany his squad for their upcoming fixtures.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Dani Carvajal as the player in question.
Full-back Carvajal has of course been sidelined since all the way back in October of last year, owing to an ACL tear in his right knee.
The Spanish international has been sorely missed by his teammates, as Carlo Ancelotti continues to rotate options in an effort to find the right balance on the right of his backline.
And Carvajal’s influence, evidently, has not only been missed on the pitch.
In addition, Real Madrid’s squad have been deprived of the 33-year-old’s leadership qualities and veteran instincts.
To the point that, despite his ongoing unavailability, Carlo Ancelotti is ready to lean upon Carvajal behind the scenes as his side enter the most crucial stretch of their campaign.
Starting with tomorrow night’s Champions League showdown with Atlético, as per Marca:
‘Ancelotti wants to have Carvajal around when everything he has done during the season is at stake. He wants the group to feel Carvajal’s presence as one of them in these decisive moments with everything on the line.’
