Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday moved to provide assurances surrounding the game-time set to be afforded to summer signing Arda Güler.
Midfielder Güler, of course, opted to take his talents to Spain’s capital with a view to the 2023/24 campaign, after Real beat out competition from arch rivals Barcelona to clinch the Turk’s signature.
Despite the widespread excitement surrounding his arrival, however, the 18-year-old has since managed just a pair of senior appearances.
This comes owing to a string of injury relapses.
He was afforded a spot on the bench for Real’s recent Super Cup victories over both Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, but managed only ten minutes of actual game time.
Such struggles have culminated in understandable frustration on the part of the Blancos’ fanbase, eager to catch a further glimpse of the talents of one of European football’s most highly-regarded youngsters.
The Real faithful, however, need not fret.
This comes amid a promise on the part of head coach Carlo Ancelotti that Güler, in the near future, will be afforded ‘a lot more playing time’.
Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s Supercopa final downing of Barcelona, Ancelotti assured:
“Arda Güler is one of our main players.
“He is back from a big injury, he will start doing his thing soon and will get a lot more playing time. We trust him”.
