Alarm bells were ringing at Real Madrid following their 2-1 victory over Braga in the Champions League on Tuesday, a result that continued their 100% record in the group stages. Jude Bellingham hobbled off late on, with suspicions over a possible groin issue.
With El Clasico just four days away, Real Madrid would have been sweating on Bellingham’s possible availability. Fortunately, it appeared that the issue is very minor, as confirmed by head coach Carlo Ancelotti, as per Marca.
“The pitch was soft and there’s nothing serious about it. He has a bit of discomfort, he’s fine”
Ancelotti also gave his assessment of the match, which would not have been as comfortable for his side as he would have liked.
“It was a good game. We had a hard fight, the key was the goal we conceded because the game was on track for us with Bellingham’s goal, and it changed the dynamic of the game. We lost the distance between the lines.”
Real Madrid and Ancelotti can now focus their attention on El Clasico at the weekend, which should be a blockbuster occasion.
