Carl Froch has now responded to John Fury after he said he would fight the former world champion on the undercard of his son Tyson’s comeback bout against Arslan Makhmudov.
The Gypsy King will make his return to boxing when he takes on Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 11 April. He announced his retirement from boxing 15 months ago, after consecutive defeats at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk, but has since decided to return to the ring.
The build-up to his comeback, however, has somewhat been overshadowed by Fury Sr’s anger with retired British boxer Froch. It now appears as though the two could fight.
John Fury Now Wants to Fight Carl Froch
In a wild recent outbust, John confronted DAZN pundit Froch and launched into an expletive-laden rant, saying: “Put some f***ing respect on the name of John Fury. And get that Carl Froch here. If he wants it, I’m f***ing here. “And if anyone else wants it – look at it. I’m here. The ultimate f***ing male.”
Their beef appears to date back some time. Prior to Tyson’s first fight with Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, Froch tore apart The Gypsy King’s record, claiming that many of the names on his record “weren’t that good”. Big John repsonded with anger and the duo’s rivalry has persisted ever since.
Amid their latest spat, Fury Sr has now offered to fight the ‘worm’ Froch, saying:
“Where do you want to fight at, mate? We’ll do it in the ring, under the lights. I’ll fight you at Tottenham in eight weeks’ time. Me and you, Tottenham, undercard, eight weeks’ time”.

Froch Accepts Fury’s Fight Offer
It hasn’t taken Froch long to respond. Speaking on his Froch on Fighting YouTube channel, the former super middleweight appeared more than willing to accept the challenge. He said:
“I feel like I’m the chosen one. I feel like it might be my job to finally shut this big gobs***e up. All he does is run around running his mouth.
“John, one final time, listen to me so it goes into that thick skull. I accept the challenge but know one thing – I’m going to come over to your corner and absolutely f***ing stick it on your Cobra style.”
He added: “I’m thinking to myself, ‘Is this guy actually being serious?’. He’s telling Netflix to get in touch. I’m not going to turn it down. I’m not going to say I’m not going to fight him because John Fury’s a big bully and big bullies need putting in their place and if I’m the man that has to do it, I will do it.
“I don’t want to beat an old man up. I don’t want to start on a 60-year-old man. I’m only 10 years younger than Big John Fury. He doesn’t look well does he. I don’t want to give him any stick but he looks f***ed.
“He’s 10 years older. I’m pressing on for 50. Is it a fair fight, I think we both know it isn’t but he’s called it on a Tottenham Hotspur.”
Froch was also keen to directly address the aformentioned incident where Fury screamed at him during the press conference for his son’s comeback fight against Makhmudov. He said he would “punch his f***ing head in” if he was stood in the room in front of him, before adding:
“He’s such a big loudmouth gobs***e who’s done f**k all and is living off his son’s name. It actually winds me up.”
