As reported by Stuttgarter Nachrichten, Championship side Burnley are interested in signing Stuttgart winger Darko Churlinov.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Schalke, who wanted to sign the player on a permanent deal, but were unable to reach an agreement with Stuttgart.
Speaking about Churlinov’s future, VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat said: “We are happy that Darko is with us and don’t intend to sell him.” The North Macedonian scored the only goal to put Stuttgart through to the second round of the DFB Pokal, Mislintat added: “Darko is good for us with his energy as an absolute mentality player.”
Relegated from the Premier League, Burnley have received around €55m in player fees and per FussballTransfers, would have to pay Stuttgart a significant fee to sign Churlinov.
Churlinov scored two and created six in 22 2. Bundesliga games on loan at Schalke last season. Since his move from FC Köln, he has scored three and created one in 27 games for Stuttgart.
