Bild reports that Brighton have rejected VfB Stuttgart’s first bid for striker Deniz Undav, who spent last season on loan at the MHP Arena.
The first bid is said to be worth €23m plus bonuses but the Premier League side are holding out for around €30m for the striker. Stuttgart are expected to make a higher bid this week.
Stuttgart are currently looking for strikers to replace Sehrou Guirassy who is set to join Borussia Dortmund this summer. Some of the players Stuttgart have been linked to are Augsburg’s Ermedin Demirovic and RB Leipzig’s André Silva.
Undav spent last season on loan at Stuttgart and had a great season as he scored 19 and assisted nine as VfB qualified for the Champions League, whilst Undav personally played himself into the Germany squad for EURO 2024, where he made a brief cameo against Hungary in the group stages.
It has previously been reported, and said by the player himself, that Undav wants to stay at Stuttgart, and with former strike partner Guirassy leaving, Undav will likely play an even bigger role in Stuttgart’s attack next season.
