Brighton launch £34m bid for Greek wonderkid Charalampos Kostoulas

Brighton & Hove Albion have submitted a £34 million offer for Olympiacos forward Charalampos Kostoulas.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top young talents after a breakthrough year in both domestic and continental competition.

Brighton had previously offered around £30 million plus Abdallah Sima, but Olympiacos want a cash-only deal with a sell-on clause included.

Kostoulas scored seven goals and registered two assists across the Greek Super League and Europa League this season.

He was also instrumental in Olympiacos’ triumph in the UEFA Youth League, scoring five goals in eight matches.

His campaign was cut short by a muscle injury, but he played a key part in helping the club reclaim the Greek title.

Kostoulas, whose contract runs until 2030, has also represented Greece at youth level, scoring five goals in 15 appearances across various age groups.

Brighton are confident of completing a deal and remain in advanced talks with the Greek club. Chelsea have been linked with the player, but there is no indication that they have submitted an offer.

Brighton’s full financial package is worth close to £39.6m, although final terms are still being negotiated.
