A long-awaited outgoing Bundesliga transfer is apparently complete. Italian journalist Nicolò Schira reports that VfL Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo is about to sign a three-year-deal with Serie A side AC Monza. The 24-year-old Croatian international, out of contract with his Bundesliga side after the season, has been looking to move away from Germany’s green company team for quite some time.
Schira offers no information as to whether Wolfsburg will pocket a transfer fee for the 33-times-capped Croat on an immediate move. Brekalo could also be headed to Lombardy after the season concludes on a free transfer. VfL trainer Niko Kovac utilized Brekalo seven times across all competitions this season. The player garnered two assists in six league and one cup deployment.
🚨 Excl. – #Monza are set to sign Josip #Brekalo from #Wolfsburg. 3-years contract (€2,2M/year + 0,2M as bonuses). #transfers
