Josip Brekalo continued his fine form by scoring both goals in Hertha BSC’s victory over Nürnberg. The January signing got his first goal in last week’s 5-2 defeat in Paderborn before leading them to victory against Miroslav Klose’s side.
Tom Baack’s first goal of the season cancelled Brekalo’s strike from counter-attack before the Croat wins it for the hosts in the 88th minute. Hertha are level on points with fellow Traditionsvereine Kaiserslautern as they sit in seventh place.
Meanwhile, Karlsruhe get past Nürnberg to climb to eighth with a 3-1 away win at relegation-threatened Magdeburg. Louey Ben Farhat doubled his tally with a brace before the captain Marvin Wanitzek’s fourth goal in three matches.
Jorrit Hendrix also led Preußen Münster to a comeback victory away at Eintracht Braunschweig in a relegation six-pointer. The captain scored the equalizer three minutes before former Bayern Munich attacker Oliver Batista-Meier snatched the winner from a direct free-kick. Paul Jaeckel saw a late red card against his former club, but Münster held on to their first win since matchday 14.
