Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Breel Embolo will stay with the club for at least one more season, according to Bild.
The Swiss international’s current contract with Gladbach runs out in 2023.
However, the club will make use of a contractual clause that will see his contract extended by at least one season until 2024.
In April, the club’s sporting director Roland Virkus announced that he would “fight” for players such as Embolo (25) especially when they have reached their full potential.
This will come as a relief to Gladbach fans as the forward had been linked with a move to Olympique Lyon before the contract renewal.
