Amid rumors that Premiership sides are intensely interested in his services, Julian Brandt appears to be nearing an agreement on a contract extension with current German club Borussia Dortmund. This is according to Sky Germany journalist Sven Westerschulze. The Sky pundit reports that die Schwarzgelben are more than comfortable giving the in-form attacker a hefty pay raise via a restructuring of his current deal, set to expire in 2024.

A potential sticking point to the new deal is the length of the new contract. Westerschulze reports that Dortmund wish to tie the 26-year-old down for several years to come while the player himself is hesitant to make a long-term commitment. As is common in such contract negotiations, it might be the case that the BVB will need to offer Brandt an exit-clause.
