According to a report from Foot Mercato, AFC Bournemouth are preparing for a future without Milos Kerkez (21) by scouring the French market for a replacement left-back. The Premier League side have reportedly been looking at two options, with the club interested in Stade Rennais’ Adrien Truffert (23) and Olympique de Marseille’s Quentin Merlin (22).
Truffert has often been linked with an exit from Rennes, but this summer could be the window that he finally departs his boyhood club as the Frenchman (with one cap) will be entering the final year of his contract this summer. Merlin, on the other hand, was only picked up by Marseille during last season’s winter window from FC Nantes for a €12 million fee.
Bournemouth have been paying close attention to the French market in recent seasons, especially with their links to sister club FC Lorient. In February, they confirmed the signing of Eli Junior Kroupi (18) from Lorient. Recent reports have also linked The Cherries to Nantes’ centre-back Nathan Zézé (19).
