Borussia Mönchengladbach’s move for Manchester City’s Ko Itakura has hit a snag, according to Bild.
Whilst the 25-year-old has already signalled that Die Fohlen would be his first option, clubs from the Premier League have since signalled an interest with City now hoping to increase the selling price due to the increased interest.
Speaking after the club’s training session, Farke said: “You can never have enough players who bring new quality to the team but I’m also realistic to know that the talks are difficult.”
Borussia Mönchengladbach are in the market for a No. 6 and Itakura is a player that can operate both in defensive-midfield and central-defence. The Japan international spent last season on loan at Schalke, who despite having an option to buy, were unable to pay the €6.5m for financial reasons.
Farke’s Gladbach would be willing to pay a figure around that as they look to strengthen their defence.
