Borussia Dortmund will continue their pursuit of Spanish defender Iván Fresneda in the summer but face competition from Arsenal, according to Bild.
After the recent contract extensions of Marco Reus and Julian Brandt, and the expected arrival of Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Mönchengladbach, BVB Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl is expected to work on the signing of Iván Fresneda from Real Valladolid.
With a contract until 2025, Fresneda is expected to cost Borussia Dortmund around €20m. To fund a move, BVB are hoping to sell Thomas Meunier, who will have one-year remaining on his contract and a reported salary of around €7m.
Fresneda has played 20 games across La Liga and the Copa del Rey for Real Valladolid this season and has played 22 games across all competitions since making his debut last season.
Other reports suggest that Newcastle United and Milan are amongst the clubs interested in Fresneda.
