Borussia Dortmund are targeting VfL Wolfsburg’s Felix Nmecha as a potential replacement for Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham, WAZ reports.
BVB already named Ajax’s Edson Álvarez (25) as a replacement for Bellingham, however, the Mexican international is more defensively orientated than the English prodigy. That’s where Wolfaburg’s Felix Nmecha comes into play.
The 22-year-old is much more offensively minded, likes to make box-to-box runs, and has since become a first-team regular with the wolves this season. His efforts and potential even earnt him a call-up to the German national team.
Though Dortmund and Wolfsburg are not in advanced talks just yet, the interest is definitely there from Edin Terzić’s side.
What’s more, Nmecha is only contracted with Wolfsburg until 2024. The wolves won’t want to lose him on a free transfer next season, however, if an extension can’t be agreed it could play into Dortmund’s hands.
