According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund have removed Niklas Süle from their transfer list.
Towards the end of last season, the former Bayern Munich centre-back struggled for game time under Edin Terzić, as Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck formed a trustworthy partnership at the back for BvB.
As well as this, Süle’s fitness became a significant issue at the club, forcing the Dortmund board to threaten the defender with a possible exit. However, it appears as though this has inspired Süle to take action.
It is understood that the 28-year-old has lost ten kilogrammes over the summer, and those in charge at the Westfalenstadion have been impressed by his transformation.
On top of this, Süle is mentally prepared for the upcoming campaign and is hoping to earn a starting spot in Nuri Şahin’s side. However, the 49-time German international will have to compete with Dortmund’s newest recruit, Waldemar Anton.
Regardless, BvB are willing to give Süle another chance to impress and have, therefore, ensured that any potential sale is currently off the table.
