As reported by WAZ, Borussia Dortmund have presented Youssoufa Moukoko with a new contract. The 17-year-old’s current deal expires in 2023 but although an offer is on the table, the German youth international is in no rush to sign an extension.
Moukoko will instead see how much playing time he gets under BVB head coach Edin Terzić before making a decision on his future. But with the absence of Sébastien Haller, Moukoko will evidently get a chance in the Borussia Dortmund first team. He started in BVB’s 3-0 win against 1860 Munich in the DFB Pokal.
Born in Yaoundé, Moukoko has scored five and created two in 38 games across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.
Moukoko’s playing time will also be dependent on whether Borussia Dortmund bring in a short-term replacement for Haller. Cologne striker Anthony Modeste (34) is interested in a move to the Westfalenstadion – Mauro Icardi (PSG), Jhon Córdoba (Krasnodar), Krzysztof Piątek (Hertha Berlin) and Edin Džeko (Inter) have also been identified as potential candidates.
