Borussia Dortmund come into their Bundesliga game against Borussia Mönchengladbach with an almost full-strength squad for the first time this season. The only noticeable absentees are Karim Adeyemi and Waldemar Anton, leaving Nuri Şahin with a strong squad to pick from.
Niklas Süle will replace Waldemar Anton in central-defence alongside Nico Schlotterbeck while Julian Brandt should also return to the squad, and starting XI, after missing last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the Klassiker. Should Brandt start, that is likely to see Pascal Groß drop to the bench with Felix Nmecha in excellent form at the moment.
Maximilian Beier has also found form after a difficult start to his Borussia Dortmund career while Jamie Gittens is arguably Dortmund’s most influential player in the attacking third with the Englishman becoming a key player for Şahin. Guirassy will start in attack with Gio Reyna, Julien Duranville and Donyell Malen all options off the bench.
Borussia Dortmund likely XI v Borussia Mönchengladbach
Gregor Kobel – Julian Ryerson, Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Ramy Bensebaini – Felix Nmecha – Maximilian Beier, Marcel Sabitzer, Julian Brandt, Jamie Gittens – Serhou Guirassy
