Borussia Dortmund face a potential stumbling block in their pursuit of Chelsea’s Renato Veiga. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have joined the race to sign the Portugal international, initiating talks with the Premier League club.
But Dortmund also remain in discussions with Chelsea after sending the London club a proposal last week, which was a reported loan offer with an option to buy, including the player’s full wages. However, Todd Boehly’s side would rather sell Veiga for around €24m, which could put Juventus in pole position, because of Dortmund’s finances.
With a need for reinforcements, this puts Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl in a difficult negotiating position, because the club are also working on a deal to sign Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford on loan for the remainder of the season.
But a development in their pursuit of Rashford puts Die Schwarzgelben in pole position to secure Rashford’s signature and if everything goes to plan, then he could be announced as a Dortmund player by Thursday, in time for BVB’s clash with Werder Bremen on Saturday.
