Borussia Dortmund CEO Carsten Cramer has expressed confidence that Nico Schlotterbeck will agree to extend his contract beyond 2027.
Speculation over the 26-year-old’s future has been mounting, with several of Europe’s top clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.
Despite the interest in the centre-back, Cramer remains optimistic that an agreement will be reached.
“I’m confident, and Nico doesn’t give me the impression that this confidence is unfounded,” Cramer told Bild.
When asked if financial disagreements could lead to a breakdown in negotiations, he said:
“We have presented him with attractive figures. I don’t want to go into further details publicly because I believe that wouldn’t be appropriate.
“Of course, the player is entitled to find the best possible financial solution for himself. We know our framework and won’t do anything crazy, but for Nico, we are certainly willing to find a very special solution.”
