Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt are amongst Bundesliga clubs that have scouted Karlsruher SC and Germany U20 international defensive-midfielder Tim Breithaupt (20).
But as reported by Bild, Breithaupt and his advisor have been spotted at Borussia-Park, which likely included a discussion with Borussia Mönchengladach sporting director Roland Virkus.
Per Transfermarkt, Breithaupt’s current market value is €3.5m and has a contract with the 2. Bundesliga club until 2024. At just 20, Breithaupt has started 19 games across all competitions for KSC.
Borussia Mönchengladbach go into the January transfer window with the idea of strenghtening their ‘six’ position. Christoph Kramer is likely to sign an extension beyond 2023, Julian Weigl could yet return to Benfica if BMG don’t sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis and they would also allow Manu Koné to depart, should they receive a substantial offer, despite a contract until 2025.
Virkus could well be in for a busy window.
