Sky Germany reports that Bologna are the next team to show interest in former Borussia Dortmund Mats Hummels, who is now a free agent.
The Italians see Hummels as a potential replacement for defender Ricardo Calafiori who has been linked with a move to Arsenal after his performances at EURO 2024. Hummels would provide much-needed Champions League experience to a squad that is rather inexperienced in Europe’s premier competition.
La Liga sides Mallorca and Sevilla are also said to be interested in the 34-year-old. A move to Mallorca would likely see Hummels stay in what some call the 17th Länder..Hummels has also been linked to Bayer Leverkusen in recent weeks in the event that current centre-back Jonathan Tah joins Bayern Munich.
Despite showing strong performances last season, the decision was made that Dortmund would not renew the contracts of long time players Hummels and Mr Dortmund himself Marco Reus.
It has been suggested that Hummels would like to move abroad but not far away from Germany so he can still be involved in his son’s life.
