Francis Onyeka’s goal secured a third successive draw for Bochum as the youngster cancelled Nürnberg’s Mohamed Alì Zoma’s ninth strike of the season. The gap remains a single point between the teams with Der Club sitting in a higher position at eighth.
The in-form striker Zoma added a goal to his last week’s hat-trick to put the visitors ahead before half-time. West Ham United loanee Callum Marshall had Bochum’s two best opportunities before the break.
The Northern Irish international was also lively in the second-half, and he played a big part in the goal that extended their unbeaten run to ten games. Onyeka scored his eighth goal of the season from a penalty-kick after a handball from Luka Lochoshvili with only twenty minutes left on the clock.
Bochum only had a solitary draw to their name after matchday 15, but they have now drawn seven of their last eight league games. Meanwhile, Miroslav Klose’s team are winless away from home since matchday 12.
