According to Sky Germany, Armel Bella-Kotchap is set to move from Bochum to the Southampton in the Premier League.
It’s reported that the highly-rated German U21 international has signed a four-year deal with the Saints.
Bella-Kotchap will be coached by former Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhüttl who has been with Southampton since 2018.
Sky’s reporters did not mention a transfer fee but it was reported last May that Bochum would not part with the centre-back for anything less than €10m.
The 20-year-old has long been linked with a move to England and was at one stage being monitored by Manchester United.
Bella-Kotchap has been with Bochum since 2018 and played a key role in their promotion to the Bundesliga as well as keeping them in the league last season.
In his debut Bundesliga season, the defender registered 22 appearances for Die Unabsteigbaren as he helped his side finish in a more than impressive 13th place.
