Hertha keeper Rune Jarstein was suspended indefinitely before Matchday 2 after criticizing goalkeeper coach Andreas Menger in a training session. The 37-year-old’s comments crossed the line when voicing his displeasure with Hertha’s training sessions and lack of communication.
In an interview with DAZN before Friday’s match against Gladbach, Sporting Director Fredi Bobic stated that, “The contract will be terminated, there will be no turning back…We talked like sensible people and wanted to try to get things apart cleanly at the end of the day.”

The capital club are likely to bring in a new no. 2 behind starter Oliver Christensen. Jarstein has been at the club since 2014, accumulating 179 competitive appearances.
