Benjamin Pavard reveals no ongoing talks with Bayern Munich over contract extension

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has revealed that there are currently no talks ongoing with the club over a potential contract extension in an interview with Téléfoot. The French international’s current deal is set to expire in 2024, but he says that his focus is solely on achieving his season goals with the German champions.

Pavard was asked about his future by Saber Desfarges, and he admitted that he was expecting the question. However, he was keen to stress that his priority at the moment is helping Bayern to win trophies.

“I was expecting this question. There are currently no talks with the club, we’re focused on our season goals. I’m just trying to play my best football, win trophies,” he said. “We’ll see this summer.”

The 25-year-old joined Bayern from VfB Stuttgart in 2019 and has established himself as a key member of the team. He helped the club to win the Bundesliga title in his first season and was also part of the side that won the Champions League in 2020. Despite a disappointing World Cup with Les Bleus, he scored on his first appearance since the tournament for France against Ireland last week.
