As reported by Sport1, Benjamin Pavard’s future at Bayern Munich remains unclear.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann wants Pavard to remain at the Bundesliga club to provide competition at right-back for Noussair Mazraoui and cover at centre-back. Pavard would rather play centrally and the departure of Niklas Süle to Borussia Dortmund may have allowed that, but the recent arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus is likely to see defender see less playing time.
Decision makers around sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić are open to selling the French defender and per the report, Pavard was offered to Manchester United and Chelsea a few days ago.
The World Cup winner is not an option for Manchester United but Chelsea remain in the market for a central-defender after missing out on Jules Koundé to Barcelona. Should Pavard leave Bayern Munich, any deal isn’t close to being completed.
The 26-year-old joined Bayern Munich from Stuttgart in 2019 for €35m and has played 119 games across all competitions.
