Belgian League’s top goalscorer Kévin Denkey target for Ligue 1 bidding war

Multiple Ligue 1 are thought to be interested in signing Kévin Denkey (23) from Cercle Brugge.

The forward has had an impressive season so far at the Belgian side where he has scored 22 goals in 26 games, and according to Wait & See 16 would be open to a return to France, a nation he left when he joined Cercle from Nîmes Olympique in 2021.

Denkey has steadily improved during his time in Belgium and has now caught the eye of multiple teams across Europe: Olympique Lyonnais, Lille OSC, Stade Rennais, and RC Lens are all thought to be monitoring the forward but will face stiff competition from the Bundesliga to secure the signature of the inform striker. However, considering AS Monaco’s 2017 takeover of Cercle it appears as if they could be first in line for Denkey.

In anticipation of a summer bidding war, Cercle have set their minimum asking price at €10 million, although this number could steadily rise if enough clubs become involved in a striker who looks set to become this season’s top goal scorer in the Belgian league.
