‘Beautiful’ – PSG star excited for Kylian Mbappé vs Pau Cubarsí duel

Fabián Ruiz today provided his take on the impending showdown between fellow Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé, and Barcelona starlet Pau Cubarsí,.

Midfielder Ruiz, for his part, is in something of a unique position.

As much comes with the former Napoli man able to call both Mbappé, and Cubarsí, teammates.

Ruiz has been plying his trade alongside the former in Paris for the best part of two years now, and was afforded a first chance to link up with fellow countryman Cubarsí with the Spanish national team squad this week.

Speaking in a recent interview with Diario Sport, it therefore came as little surprise when the upcoming meeting between his club-mate and compatriot was put to Ruiz.

Mbappé and Cubarsí will face off on the pitch on a pair of occasions next month, as part of the mouthwatering Champions League quarter-final tie between Barcelona and PSG.

And Ruiz, for his part, is of the opinion that a ‘beautiful duel’ is in store, albeit with the 27-year-old having also been keen to make clear his happiness with having Mbappé, at least for the time being, on his side:

“In the few matches he has played, Pau has shown the level he possesses. Mbappé is one of the best players in the world. It will be a beautiful duel. Fortunately, we have Kylian by our side.”
