Rangers have promised Michael Beale that he will have money to spend in the January transfer window after being unveiled as the new boss at Ibrox, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The Gers have made an alteration in the dugout after falling nine points adrift of Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Rangers manager news – Michael Beale
Rangers confirmed the appointment of Beale as their new manager on Monday, with the 42-year-old penning a contract tying him down to the Glasgow side until the summer of 2026.
It means he has returned to his former employers after enjoying a 192-game stint, according to Transfermarkt, as Steven Gerrard’s assistant.
The Gers made their move after sacking Giovanni van Bronckhorst following an underwhelming first half of the campaign.
It comes after Sky Sports reported Beale turned down an approach from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.
He has moved into the Ibrox hot seat after Rangers agreed to pay a £1.5million release clause written into his Queens Park Rangers contract, according to MailOnline.

What has Dean Jones said about Beale?
Jones understands that Beale opted to walk away from Championship side QPR in favour of returning to Rangers after an exciting plan was put forward.
The journalist is also aware that the ex-Aston Villa assistant head coach has been told he will have money to spend during the January transfer window.
When asked about Beale’s attraction to the job, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Part of it is that Rangers have spelled out a promising future plan for him. He knows he’s going to be able to shape the first team and he will be able to have a big say on how the club is run too.
“I think they really see him as a big figurehead here and that is something that’s really exciting. The promise of funds in January comes as part of the package.”
Is Beale a good appointment by Rangers?
Beale took on his first managerial role in the summer, having been appointed as QPR’s head coach after spending years working under Gerrard.
He enjoyed a promising stint at Loftus Road, guiding the Championship outfit to nine victories and four draws from 22 matches, as per Transfermarkt.
According to West London Sport, Beale has a close relationship with Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson, who pushed to appoint him, and that could prove crucial as the Glasgow giants look to close the gap on Celtic at the Scottish Premiership summit.
Speaking on The Robbie Fowler Podcast – via the Daily Record – Gerrard has previously described Beale as ‘really quite special’ and an ‘expert’, emphasising that the Gers have made a strong appointment.
