Despite recently extending Manuel Neuer’s contract, Bayern want to keep Alex Nübel long term.

Bayern München want to keep Alexander Nübel long term and are keen to extend the goalkeeper’s contract, which expires in 2025, according to club boss Hasan Salihamidzic.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Monaco and will stay there until the summer of 2023.
Manuel Neuer remains Bayern’s undisputed number one and recently signed a new deal until 2024, but the German champions still see Nübel as his successor.
“FC Bayern are planning long-term with Alexander Nübel, because we believe in his quality and want to secure the goalkeeping position in the future,” Bayern board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic told Sport Bild.
“Alex played a very good season in Monaco and kept 11 clean sheets. It’s also thanks to him that Monaco could now qualify for the Champions League again.
“We can very well imagine extending his contract. We’ll speak to Alex and his agent and find the best solution for him and the club. We’re happy that Manuel Neuer extended until 2024, and we’re very happy with Alex’s development. I hope and think he can keep up his performances.”
